Michael Frake’s single propels the Dunlap Eagles JV past Pekin (IL), 9-4

The Dunlap Eagles JV jumped on Pekin early on their way to a 9-4 win on Monday in seven innings, scoring four runs in the first inning.

The Dunlap Eagles JV scored in the first on an RBI single by Michael Frake, an RBI single by Aizik Hatch, and a two-run single by Ben Cekander.

Matt Leist racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Dunlap Eagles JV. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Leist got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He allowed two runs over four innings. Leist struck out none, walked three and gave up four hits.

Shane took the loss for Pekin . He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed one run.

Two runs in the bottom of the third helped Pekin close its deficit to 5-2. A groundout by Brown and an error sparked Pekin ‘s rally. Leist ended the inning by getting Null to ground out.

The Dunlap Eagles JV got one-run rallies in the fourth inning and the fifth. In the fourth, the Dunlap Eagles JV scored on an RBI single by Frake, scoring Andrew Pogue.

The Dunlap Eagles JV tacked on another two runs in the seventh. The inning looked promising, as Pogue doubled, bringing home Myles Burke to kick things off.
