DUNLAP EAGLES SOFTBALL Defeats Morton 10-4
Despite allowing three runs in the fifth inning, DUNLAP EAGLES SOFTBALL defeated Morton 10-4 on Thursday. After Morton scored three runs in the top of the fifth, the Eagles answered with three of their own. DUNLAP then answered when Opel induced Kristina Perkinson to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Opel walked Clara Fitzpatrick to drive in a run, and Barrington singled off of Opel, driving in one run. A wild pitch by Opel scored one run for EAGLES. Dunlap took the lead for good with one run in the third inning. In the third Opel walked Caroline Abenroth to drive in a run. Barrington earned the win for DUNLAP EAGLES SOFTBALL. She tossed seven innings, allowing four runs, five hits, striking out two, and walking one. Opel took the loss for Morton. Barrington went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead in hits.
