Eagles News · Dunlap Wins at Pekin 11-3 on 4/12/18

The Dunlap Eagles Varsity  won 11-3 on Thursday.

Pekin scored its runs on a home run by Evan Pogloli.

The Eagles pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. Taylor Catton doubled, scoring two runs.

Dunlap tallied four runs in the sixth inning. The rally was led by a single by Jake Miller, an error on a ball put in play by Jared Holt, and a double by Luke Miller.

The Eagles had 15 hits in the game. Luke Miller, Jake Miller, John Day, and Catton all collected multiple hits. Luke Miller went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Dunlap in hits. The Eagles didn’t commit a single error in the field.

Andrew Pogue was the winning pitcher for Dunlap. He went five innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out four. Holt threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Nathan Righi took the loss for Pekin. He lasted four and a third innings, allowing nine hits and six runs while striking out three.

Dunlap advances to 10-2 overall and 3-1 in the Mid-Illini Conference.
