Eagles News · IHSA Update 4/21

Full statement from the IHSA (April 21): https://www.ihsa.org/default.asp

Today, the IHSA Board of Directors made the decision to cancel the IHSA Spring State Series.  Although this decision was anticipated, the reality of it is still difficult to swallow.  Summer contact days for all sports are also suspended until further notice.  If it is determined safe for athletic events to return, the IHSA will “provide a detailed outline to schools on the plan for summer contact days and possibly some type of spring athletic events,” according to the statement.

Eagle Seniors- I am sorry.  The current, unfortunate situation has drastically altered the course of your senior year.  For our student-athletes, taking to the athletic arena as a senior is a highly anticipated part of the high school journey and I know you’ve been working hard in anticipation of the season.  Thank you for the four years you’ve represented Dunlap High School!  You have made DHS proud & I know you will continue your endless pursuit of excellence as you move forward.

The Athletic Department remains committed to honoring our seniors with some sort of altered “Senior Night.”  More details regarding this will come from your coaches in the coming weeks.

As always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Take care,

Mrs. Cazalet
